Mordasang
Dates

One of the rarest date varieties in the world — the only date with a "cold nature" in traditional Iranian medicine.

Home/Collections/Mordasang Dates

Mordasang is native to the Jiroft region of Kerman Province — the same ground VARAS Food operates on — and is a true specialty product. This semi-dry variety features a soft yellowish color, flesh that separates cleanly from the pit, and a mild, delicate sweetness unlike any of our other three varieties.

Unlike most dates, Mordasang's consumption does not cause internal heat in traditional Iranian medicine, making it prized in natural health circles. Iran produces approximately 15,000 tons annually, primarily for domestic markets — ask us about current export availability.
